Is couples therapy right for us?
- It can help with repeated arguments, breakdowns in communication, trust and intimacy issues, life transitions, or feeling stuck.
- You do not need to be in crisis to start. It works well for prevention too.
What happens in the first session?
- We map what is happening for each of you, agree a shared aim, and set a simple plan for the next few weeks.
Will you take sides?
- No. My job is to keep the space fair, structured and safe so both voices are heard. I focus on the pattern, not on who is “right”.
Do we always attend together?
- Usually yes. There may be brief individual check‑ins if helpful, but the work is primarily as a couple.
How often will we meet and for how long overall?
- Weekly is best at the start. Some couples then move to fortnightly.
- Length varies. Many couples work in focused blocks and review every 6–8 sessions.
What will sessions look like?
